The Bridgefy App lets you send offline messages to friends and family within 330 ft (100 m) when you don't have access to Internet, by simply turning on your Bluetooth antenna. Bridgefy is ideal for traveling, natural disasters, rural communities, music festivals, sports stadiums, and much more.

Use the Broadcast tab of the app so you can chat with other Bridgefy s within your Bluetooth's antenna range during tough times in which Internet connectivity is complicated. All messages sent through the Bridgefy messaging app mesh networks are encrypted. Please keep in mind Broadcast messages can be seen by anybody nearby.

How to start using Bridgefy:

1.- Turn on Bluetooth

2.- Open Bridgefy, making sure you have an Internet connection (only needed the very first time you open it). Give the app location permissions (to use the Bridgefy technology via Bluetooth).

3.- Go to the Broadcast tab

4.- Start sharing messages with people that are within 330 ft. (100 mts) from you

You don't need to add s to Bridgefy. The app automatically detects other Bridgefy s around you and lets you chat using the Broadcast section.

Huge caveat: It claims to be a disaster-response app, but it requires Internet connection on initial setup. This means that you cannot use the app during actual disasters (because you won't be able to transfer it to other s who don't have it yet.) I will be testing hop-based forwarding over Bluetooth soon and I'll try to update the review. If it works, then at least it can be used in places such as caves (if everyone comes prepared).

Incredibly disappointed, the developers should be ashamed. The app will not recognise an active internet connection to do initial startup, I've given it every permission, updated and reinstalled it. Seeing other responses the developers have given to "restart it" and further reviews saying that even when it is working, they get ads but still slow, just tells me this is a grift. If I had more space, I'd give you a detailed breakdown. This is a toy, not a lifeline. Avoid. Buy a radio instead.

Just tried it out on a cruise with mostly good success, but Bluetooth range is limited, so you still need to be in fairly close proximity for it to work. My phone just updated to Android 15, and now the message box is covered by the Samsung UI and unable to send new messages.

My husband and I wanted a way to message on the plane because we end up getting split up with our 3 kids between the two of us. Bridgefy was recommended with mixed reviews on the Google appstore, but with it being free, I thought why not try? Our communication was delayed by about 5 minutes while still on the ground, but once we got up in the air, the communication via Bluetooth worked almost instantly. It was nice to just keep in touch while flying or delayed. I recommend it!

Horrible app. I wanted to use it so that I can easily text my mom if we were on a protest or something and we get split. I ed it now on both devices, turned bluetooth on and allowed everything. After a couple minutes I turned off the wifi and checked the app on both phones, and it said that there were no other bridgefy s near me, even though the phones were right beside each other. I've tried everything and It just doesnt work.

Update 2025-03: Thought I should just activate it anyway, can't use email requires a Google or apple . -2 stars. 2025-02 Was thinking this would be a great app in case of network trouble. And I could just share the apk (app packet) with my friends if they didn't already have the app. But it requires internet to start so it's definitely not made for any kind of emergency, just for fun. Quite sad, would have been useful.

Works fine when no internet or signal. It can be useful in situations where networks are down, such as natural disasters.

Tries it in belgrade on 15. March 2025, unusable, it simply did not work, i pressume its cause it uses google to , but in mass of 500000 the internet does not work and neither does the app. Just avoid it do not depend on it, I swear to god, whatsapp worked but was alow, this did not work.
