The Earthquake Network research project develops a smartphone-based earthquake early warning system able to detect earthquakes in real time and to alert the population in advance. Smartphones are able to detect earthquakes thanks to the accelerometer on-board each device. When an earthquake is detected, s with the application installed are immediatly alerted. Since earthquake waves travel at a finite speed (from 5 to 10 km/s) it is possible to alert the population not yet reached by the damaging waves of the earthquake. The only reason I keep it is because it does give you a very fast alert when there's a quake anywhere near you. On the down side, it alerts you when the quake is too far away for you to feel. It not only gives initially incorrect size and location, but never corrects it. Finally, the alarm will go off repeatedly just for looking at a prior event.

This app is getting worse year by year. You had choice between networks and different customizations for seismic alerts, 3/4 is gone. The UI is still terrible and never got reworked, no dark theme. Dev doesn't want to put time to maintain this app properly and prefer to milk s with pro subscription...

Thanks a lot . I live in turkey currently and as you may know we experienced a really bad earthquake a year ago. It wasn't a one earthquake there were 4 to 3 that was strong. the first earthquake(7.5)I didn't have the app and I wasn't alerted. that night was a nightmare, me and my family stayed awake. then I found the app and ed it. When the 2nd earthquake(6.2) happened I was alerted and they alerted me like 15 seconds before. And I was able to run with the family. I recommend this.

It is ridiculous to find an application that saves people's lives from natural disasters, but for a fee... This means that there are poor people or people who are closed to electronic payment methods... They cannot use this feature that was found on their phones for free, but to activate it you have to pay human blood brokers. Despite this, I will give the application five stars in of the humane idea of the application, not in of the material mechanism of the application.

Not easy to use for those of us "old folks" that aren't tech savvy. I just wanted to get instant alerts of quakes for my area only. I don't wish to have my phone tracked all the time, so I wanted to leave "location" turned off but still get notifications for my zipcode. Seems pretty simple to me. But I can't even ask a question on this app. Need to simplify further for those of us that don't play with computers all day.

It works! And besides providing official info for earthquakes, it has warned me several times of incoming quakes! Update: After many years of having the PRO version, suddenly the options to customize which sysmology agencia data I want, or the filtering of earthquakes by magnitude and distance, have been removed!! Now I get the alerts the app decide I need ignoring what I wanted before... Very, very disappointing! :-(

Great app with a ton of information available. Highly recommended. One question: Why do I get the rapid "busy telephone" sound when my phone is set down and how do I mute that? I have to kill the app at night because this alert goes off every 5 to 10 minutes. I have seen one mention in a review of this same sound. It does not correlate with any alert settings that I can see.

Works well once configured. Even better with a subscription service and pro version. Try the free version First like I did learn about the program and test it out. I decided to switch over from learning about it to using it. This was because of an earthquake I was informed about as what's happening at the afterwards and not before. But the idea was there and the timing was great I wanted a better time response and this comes with the paid version. Very awesome and satisfied. California USA
