The reliable and straightforward Aviation Weather app for Pilots and aerospace enthusiasts. The METAR-Reader decodes and presents the current METARs of more than 9500 Airports around the globe. Neither more nor less. A simple Color Coding allows a fast classification by VFR or IFR Conditions - as an option even by NATO Color State. Additionally the current TAF weather forecasts are retrieved and displayed clearly in a decoded form.

Runway crosswind components are automatically calculated based on the current METAR. A Widget which can be configured to display either decoded METAR or raw METAR / TAF is also available.

As a bonus the app offers access to NOTAM for the weather stations, which will be ed, in part decoded and which can individually be marked as read. This way you can easily keep track of new and relevant NOTAM.

New weather stations can be found worldwide by ICAO or IATA-Codes, airport name or city. They can be organized in defined groups - e. g. for your most common routes or alternate airports. Additionally an auto-managed group always presents nearby weather stations.

For use during the night, there is a dark theme which can be activated either manually or automatically by the system (depending on your Android version).

I have been using this app for years after purchasing most of the modules. As a HAA pilot it has been my go-to weather app for a quick rundown of the conditions in my service area. The ability to see the conditions of a list of METAR sites at a glance is invaluable. If I could make any recommendations: 1.) The ability to read the Area Forecast Discussions (Short term, long term, and Aviation) 2.) The ability to customize or compress the information to allow more sites on screen at once.

Works well!! Can set for US or Metric. Gives the VFR colour code. Developer responsive to inquiries. The only problem I have is if I accidentally add a wrong airport code, I can't delete it, necessitating deleting the entire "favourite" list and readding it all from scratch. Perhaps I am missing a step? Notwithstanding this minor problem, this is a VERY good app, and it becomes one of your "go to" apps if you flow the weather closely!

This is an excellent app - especially for VFR pilots. I set up airports according to routes I take. I am based at KCRG. I set up south, south west, north and north west routes. The only addition I would suggest is the ability to sort the airports in order of one's route flown. EXCELLENT APP!!! Oops - I just read another review that says it can be done. I will try it.

Great wx app. saves me from having to use that hot piece of garbage garmin pilot for android just to check wx conditions. I wish the widgets pushed information a little quicker because i still feel like i need to open the app and refresh to make sure i have the most current information, but that is an extremely minor issue. Wouldnt mind seeing a radar option at some point in the future, but thats avaialable in other apps, and this one does what it says it does very well and is worth the price.

Not bad. Seems to work well. It is a weather app but does show a lot of useful information about the airport hosting the weather station. The only bad thing is that you can't seem to get the airport info if it doesn't have a weather station. Also, it would be nice to see the altimeter settings on the decoded page. You can get that on the raw page but it would be nice to have it all in one place.

Great weather, metar app. Very detailed information. Using on my Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy Tab S5e. I have about 12 locations entered. The weather data seems to update more timely than it does on other apps I have. I do have some of the optional paid for add-on features, which, to me, are worth the costs, which are very reasonable to me.

I love the speed and convenience of this app. However, the app has shown my home airport KOFP as “expired”, “NO DATA AVAILABLE”, or “???” for three weeks. The METAR is definitely operative and was shown until recently. Please fix! UPDATE 2 HOURS AFTER MY REVIEW: The app is working PERFECTLY again! Thanks for the quick response! HAPPY to award 5 STARS again!!!

I use this app a lot and find it extremely useful. I set up groups for airports along an intended route of flight and can then very quickly get a weather picture while preparing for a flight. One suggestion: put a symbol for an airport where a TAF is available. On an unfamiliar route I might set up 30 airports in a group. Then as departure time approaches and I want to see forecasts, I can never which airports in the list have TAFs and I end up with lots of unnecessary clicking. If there were a symbol to illustrate a TAF is available it would make the app even better for me. Great app.
