I've used Joplin and appreciate its features, but there are a few areas needing improvement. The Android app lacks a rich text editor, which limits formatting options. While Markdown is useful, a rich text editor would offer more flexibility and ease for s. Additionally, the desktop version feels more polished with its editing experience. It would be great to see those features reflected in the Android app as well. Overall, Joplin has great potential. I hope these updates are considered. 😔

Had to change my review because of synching nightmare. I started out liking this app but all of a sudden the synchronize on my Android just does not work. Constantly reloading all of my thousands of notes. Anytime I open it, it starts the process again. It has just become buggy and unreliable. I just can no longer deal with such inconvenience with this app.

I love the freedom this notebook app gives me. I can choose if and how I want to synchronize, including just setting my own custom folder and using whatever sync app I prefer. Although, I wonder why it doesn't directly Google Drive like it does One Drive. I like how it uses markdown. It works well with internal links, grabbing files to put into the database or just using external links to files on my PC (hold ALT, drag and drop). It seems fast so far and hasn't crashed on me yet.

Been using it for all my notes, stories, ideas since 2019. I've tried all the popular note apps and this is STILL my favorite. It's FOSS, markdown, I can save my notes on my own cloud drive, simple, no bloated UI, multi-level (nested) folders, unlimited notes and notebooks. The only thing lacking is built-in app lock, hopefully it's on the way. Desktop app takes lots of resources though.

Open source and minimalistic note-taking app with plenty of syncing options between multiple platforms (Google Drive, OneDrive, et al, even your own home server if you wish!). A great replacement for refugees of the Evernote apocalypse, and I don't anticipate problems with it, but it's nice peace-of-mind knowing my notes are also backed up to a secondary system should there ever be issues with the app itself.

This app is great if you want to take notes and have them synced for free without having to worry about cloud services having your personal thoughts. The app is not as customizable as something like Obsidian without plugins --which I haven't tried-- but I think that it's perfect for someone who wants something with a lot of features without too much messing around with it.

It's like a proof of concept. But too flaky for ordinary folks to use reliably. I'm a retired software engineer running meely 2 people, 2 phones, one laptop. Sync is glitchy, interlocks are crude, cloud changes require reinstalls, and (frequent) error messages refer to items by hash codes which aren't shown any much else, so hard to hunt down. Sort of does most of the job though.

Excellent app - has replaced OneNote on my devices and InfoSelect on my PC. I use OneDrive for cloud sync and the Joplin encryption facility. These work flawlessly. Bit of a learning curve to start with which is to be expected. Having some small teething difficulties with exporting and some relatively minor limitations but I expect to resolve these as I go on. Highly recommend.
