You can't read one story without agreeing to a trial subscription. An image of a lock appears next to each headline. Most good apps will at least let me read some stories to allow me to determine if their journalistic approach appeals to me. Nope, not one. Don't waste your time unless you intend to subscribe sight unseen. There are far too many news apps to choose from for me to be forced into a subscription without knowing how they report, left or right, amount of bias....

Update to my first review below. The bug in the app has been fixed, and I really appreciate the ease of use and features. Thank you! Old review: We are longtime World readers. I listened to the daily news on this app until recently, when I got a new phone (Samsung A53). Every time I try to listen to the news, the app crashes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it continued to crash. I hope an app update will fix this, or I will have to delete the app.

App is handy when reading or ing the magazine. The initial glitches have been resolved with the latest update. It's nice to have the benefits of the magazine and the podcasts all in one place. Certainly worth having to access the latest news at your fingertips....all well written with journalistic professionalism with a Biblical WORLD view!

The app open the first time and now will not open even from the install. The first time that it did open it was very good reporting. Unknown reason why the software is not loading. It could be a Google thing. UPDATE: The updated version works, thank you. I enjoy the comments, the journalism, and topics covered. This pods cast is now a daily read for me.

Great app and greats news group. There was an update, and now this app is not working with Android phones, and the team has not fixed it yet. It has been about a month since it was last usable for me. I will update to 5-stars once it is fixed, but I am currently paying digital subscription to not get news. I will cancel my subscription soon if the app is not updated, or an ETA of when it will be fixed. Edit: 11/28/22: Thank you for responsing and updating!!

I love World, but this app, not so much. I have to clear all data every time I open the app or it freezes. Unlike previous versions there appears to be no way to bookmark where I was reading. Possibly the most frustrating is the lack of response when emailing customer about these issues. You have an excellent publication but lack that excellence in ing your e-subscribers, who have paid for better access than this app provides. Please do better.

Thank you, World News Group, for making your excellent journalism available in the app. It's very easy to use. One problem: Android OS keeps telling me that the app crashes frequently. It's pretty annoying and detracts from the experience.

Update: the problem was quickly resolved and I'm back to enjoying"The World and Everything in it." I love WORLD radio news. Unfortunately the app still crashes as of (7/27/24) when attempting to listen to any of the podcasts. I am using a Pixel 7 on Android 14.
