The suggested paces it calculated for me were more on the conservative side but I didn't mind this and ran faster if it kept the run the same zone. The free version of the program was more than enough and successful for two races I ran (half and marathon). I beat my goal times by several minues. For me, I like the simplicity of the app. "Hal Says" is always a good read too!

Love the idea of this app, but the paid version is so poorly programmed. Terrible pacing. Based on all peer-reviewed academic HR research, this algorithm errs on the side of too fast, which is always a good way to get injured. In fact, all paces are too fast, even with accurate, very recent race times input. I thought I might be nuts but Redittors had same experience. Base run pace is overtraining guaranteed. The auto adjustments to the plan allow no rest if you are ill and miss runs.

Nicely executes basic function of suggested training calendar based on race date and rest days! "Hal" is a little preachy and I've hit a couple frozen app (infinite beachball) snags but I'm very happy with it so far and continue to be impressed by extra flourishes (connect with Garmin, etc.) I'll come back and update if I "run" into any issues with the training plan.

Fantastic app capable of deg efficient plans for all levels. I've used Run With Hal to prep for a few years now and it has never failed to bring me satisfaction when logging runs after a strong effort. Would recommend!

I love this app. I've run over a hundred races, including a couple 50ks and triathlons. I generally know how to train myself, but wanted to try this app. I've had a really positive experience so far. I like that it provides you explanations of the workouts, why you're running them, and with a score once you've finished. I'm using the app to train for a 15k right now. I may not use it for all of my races, but I will be using it for the foreseeable future.

it's awesome! no need to subscribe (although seriously considering it for the GPS), a full interactive training program for running, totally free!

I am using this app to train for my first half marathon. I'm using the free version and having a set schedule and goal for the whole program is awesome. Highly recommend this app.
