I keep seeing other countries on the map even though I've changed the settings to include only my continent and my region. I do get notifications for the correct region, but when I open the app, it shows earthquakes from Brazil, Turkey, etc., instead of the U.S. and my region. Since posting this review, no one from the app company has ed me to correct this. I suppose they want us to buy the "pro version" to get correct info about earthquakes around us. Don't bother using this app.

Good for basic notifications only. Needs to have ability to set multiple alarms. I want to be notified of lesser magnitude quakes in my area and greater worldwide. Also a setting for specific radius for "near me". I don't need to know of every 3.0 in California but would be interested in them in the Puget Sound area. Tried the Pro version but same choices. Otherwise, good basic info app.

I can't figure out how to set filters for magnitude, proximity to me, and time frame. I had pictured an app where I could zoom in or out on a map and be shown pins that fit my parameters. Think: Zillow. I guess it's fine for what it does, but I don't want to scroll through dozens of alerts from all over the world to see the 4.1 that happened 20 miles from my house while I was sleeping.

Leaving GPS on drains batteries. Needs to last location of the phone. Most people stay in a 10 to 50 mile radius of their homes/work. That isn't good for immediate reporting, you can turn off that function, but would allow people to get info for recent quakes. Needs to better filter out earthquakes not near me. It is not easy to 'look up' possible quakes. USGS has a good option, could be an idea to start. Great concept. I can't use it because I won't leave in my Loc function.

This app is ok, but limited. It would be better if you could select a distance (for example, 100 mile radius) from a fixed location (not my phone's location). Or if the information tabs at least included the distance. This wouldn't be extremely difficult, as they know the GPS location of each quake, so all they need is the GPS location of your target. That information is typically available either on your phone, or can be found in many map programs.

I live in the CA desert & want to know what's shaking here & in other parts ot world. This app gives Info I want/need, & like ability to customize notifications. Ads not bothesome. I like GUI design, asthetically pleasing. Like the hybrid map most. Similar apps look like made on a small budget too basic. My 4/5 is mostly because I'd like to be able to set notifications for multiple areas/regions. I'd pay for this option in the pro version, but pro ver ONLY REMOVES ADS - no additional features.

Just installed a couple of days ago following our notable 7.0 earthquake in Alaska last week. Install and setup was easy with the many filter settings allowing the notifications to be customized by vicinity, magnitude and many other parameters. I set my threshold at 3.0 with a silent notification so it's not making a noise every every 2 to 3 hours, which seems to be the frequency of the aftershocks! Great app!

Reliable with lots of customizations. I ed the app because we had a 5.6 earthquake in our area and the aftershocks were making me nuts. I couldn't tell if it was just in my head or if they were really happening. The app is able to give you data globally and customize it down to just within a hundred miles of your region. You can determine whether or not you receive alerts and for the intensity of the event alerted for. Very versatile and reliable app.
