My family has been a subscriber to the Columbus Dispatch since 2006. It is a very good quality, mainstream, progressive to politically moderate, "full-service" newspaper that has tried to remain viable as consumers' information gathering habits have undergone extreme changes. There are many excellent features. However, the app that provides access to the e-newspaper has serious flaws. The most serious of these is that it is difficult, maybe impossible, to access articles in past editions.

Poorly designed. Kept asking for whenever I opened the app, then says I don't have an even though we have a delivery . Emails to replies to call 800 number, but they can't fix it. Whoever is responsible for the authentication process should be fired. EDIT- fixed, but e-edition has no print option when opening Jumble, crossword puzzle, Sudoku etc. Images. Print icon on the image is gone, "share" button has no option to share to printer.

I have been a paid subscriber to the Dispatch since 1994. This app has NEVER allowed me to see the electronic edition of the newspaper despite repeated efforts to over the last ~4 years. I am left to believe that this app was designed primarily to tease and frustrate readers who want to stay current while out of town. I would continue our subscription to the print edition even if the electronic edition were functional. After I wrote this my eEdition started arriving daily. Thanks.

Updated January 2021: thank you for fixing this! Much appreciated. Would enjoy better if every push notification took you to *that* particular story vs what it does now, which is to take you to the newest push story. In other words, if you receive 2 push notifications, the newest one supercedes the older one, even if you select the older one to read.

Beware of the business model for this app. They will send you an inexpensive introductory offer. They then automatically renew your offer a month prior to when it was supposed to expire and charge your credit card. If you try to cancel they will say that you cannot cancel and get your money back. The app itself is not very fluid to navigate. It's loaded with ads. The sports are a day late

Every few months have to delete app then reinstall it. It doesn't hold my . A message appears telling me I read my 10 free articles and have to subscribe. I am a subscriber! The message gives me no option to sign in again. The only option is to subscribe. Never have this issue with NY Times app or others. This is the worst app I've ever used! Dispatch should be embarrassed.

Should be much better. Notifications are sent, but are not connected to the article about that particular story. Sometimes it routes to the online site that is selling subscriptions. As a subscriber I haven't figured out how to get around it. When I look for the story in the app (when logged in) it cannot be found. The app also doesn't post local stories, unless they fall into one of the other categories such as business or entertainment.

I have loved my Columbus Dispatch app and use it to read my daily Dispatch. However, this update made it worse. It took away the sections menu on the bottom left hand side which allowed me to read the sections in a different order than the order of the day's newspaper. Now it is more difficult to enjoy my Dispatch the way I wish. Otherwise this app works very well. But, please return the section menu.
