Bark provides families with the tools they need to raise kids in the digital age. Our comprehensive service lets you monitor content, manage screen time, and filter websites so you can get peace of mind while your child is online.

CONTENT MONITORING

Bark monitors your child’s text messages, email, YouTube, and 30+ apps and social media platforms for issues like cyberbullying, suicidal ideation, adult content, sexual predators, profanity, threats of violence, and more. Parents receive alerts only when something potentially problematic occurs online. You won’t have full access to everything on your child’s phone — just the things you might need to know about.

SCREEN TIME MANAGEMENT

Families can set healthy time limits and create schedules for when their children’s devices can connect to the internet (through both cell service and Wi-Fi).

WEB FILTERING

Our web filter lets you select which websites your child can access on their devices. You can allow or block specific sites — or even whole categories like streaming services, online gaming, sexual content, and more.

BARK HOME

When you purchase Bark Home, a small device sold separately that connects to your Wi-Fi router, you can use our app to manage screen time and filter websites and apps on all of the Wi-Fi-connected devices in your home, from smart TVs and video game consoles to laptops and tablets. Bark Home requires an active Bark subscription.

PRICING

Bark, our comprehensive online safety solution, includes content monitoring, screen time management, and web filtering. Bark is $14/month — or $99 annually.

Bark Jr provides screen time management and web filtering for $5/month or $49 annually.

While I appreciate the protection this app offers, the experience with Android is awful. Everytime there is an update, I have to completely delete and reinstall the app on my kids phone. I follow the update instructions to the letter and it still won't properly install the update. If I had another choice for text monitoring I would switch immediately.

Such a terrible app. I paid for the version and it's nothing but problems. Constantly disconnects from my kids phone and I have to reset it like every week. To top it off, even when it is connected, it catches things that it shouldn't and misses things it should catch. Really hoping I can find a better alternative

I really like the concept and ease of use. However, it never fails despite the amount of following the directions and s to . The app is always hing issues with connecting to child phone and losing accessibility settings. It has become such an issue that I am now searching for alternatives.

Bark feels only half implemented and will test your patience at every turn. It requires complex work-arounds for the most basic functions, such as using the Google Play Store. The setup process is like configuring a NASA shuttle launch and actually I'm pretty sure the shuttle is easier. There isn't even an option for a second parent to ister the . Just wow. Again the app should be called Ba because it's about half done.

This requires an unbelievable amount of permissions on the phone. I get the idea of careful monitoring, but setting an app up to access everything isn't reasonable. We should be able to control what permissions are necessary in relation to what restrictions we want to impose. Even after doing everything and finding all the menus, sub-menus, workarounds, links, it STILL didn't work and said that I haven't given all permissions, when all the boxes are checked on my child's screen.

Not very good software. Lots of bugs/glitches. Poor tech , it's not real time. It's emails that take an hour or more in between. Plus, they don't ways read them, so they send you duplicate stuff, so then you have to wait for the next email and hope they actually read it this time and give you the next step or sulution. Highly do NOT recommend. It's a money grab company. Your home computer has to be on for it to work correctly. Can't see actual text, chats, etc.

I've been really disappointed in the Bark app despite high expectations. The parent and child app takes a long time to sync, and often doesn't sync correctly (e.g. I put the phone into school or sleep mode but child can still text). Child cant see number of minutes remaining. I was really excited for this app but now I'm not sure if we will keep it due to all of the glitches and frustrations.

This app is fabulous, I saw the recent ratings and was not sure, but have heard so many good things from my kids friends parents and decided to give it a try regardless. The installation on Android is simple, you do need to know to allow s from external sources on the device and to switch off Play safe scanning in order to install the app on your child's device, after that the prompts can be followed and is super simple. The monitoring itself is brilliant too. Thank you!
