Bid Whist is an exciting, popular partnership trick-taking game. It is played with a standard 52 card deck plus 2 jokers, for a total of 54 cards. There are 4 players consisting of two teams; each player sits opposite their partner. The game starts with each team at zero, and the object of the game is to reach a score 7 or more points, or force the other team to go negative 7 or more points. Points are scored by bidding for and winning tricks, which in this game are called books.*No Trump Bids will double your points (win or lose the bid)
The Bidding
The turn to bid goes around the table only once starting with the player to the left of the dealer. Each bid consists of a number from 4 to 7, and a suffix "uptown", "downtown", or "no trump".
The number indicates the number of books above 6 that the bidder's team will contract to win - for example a bid of 5 is a promise to win at least 11 books (6 + 5). As there are 13 books in all, 7 is the highest possible bid.
Uptown (or "high") means you intend to name a trump suit, and that high cards will win.
Downtown (or "low") means that you intend to name a trump suit, and that low cards will win.
No Trump means that there will be no trump, and that if you win the bidding you will then determine whether high or low cards will have preference.
Added an option for Easy or Traditional(Hard Bidding). With Hard Bidding, you can only see the Kitty Cards after you have selected the Trump Suit and Direction(Uptown or Downtown) of your hand. With Easy Bidding, you can see the Kitty cards before you select the Trump Suit or Direction(with a No Trump Bid).

if you make a mistske or hit the wrong button..you cannot back up, reverse, or return to previous. Also, you cannot read what the bids are when they place the icon of front telling you what the previous opponents did. You cannot see that last line clearly. Please move it down or available to see completely.

This game won't stay ed on my phone. When I stop playing it and go to something else, it erases itself, and I have to it again. This gets frustrating after a while. Can you fix this problem? I really do love the game, that's why I keep coming back. Sincerely, Betty Currie

I like the game, however playing strategy is not that good with the computer partner. Jokers are wild...not understanding when you get the bid and lead trump with big joker on first round and then lead with a lower trump card and computer partner has second joker, but doesn't play it until later in game, thus allowing your opponent to gain a hand of play...this is called a "fishing" strategy that is used amongst bid whist players and it's frustrating.....

The bottom line with details of each bidder's bid is hidden beneath a banner so you can't see what the last bid was until you attempt to bid. On no Trump bids, it displays high or low but changes to the opposite direction once play begins.

Game itself is fine except that it doesn't obey the sound control of my phone and the ads don't obey the sound controls of the app! App showed sound off but the ad still played sound. Sometimes you really do need to be muted. Annoying. :'/

My brother introduced me to this app a few days ago. Initially I was incredulous due to the fact that I have played face-to-face Bid for 40 years. I am happy to report this app is AWESOME! Becuase it is hard to find players under 45 years old these days, this is a great substitute. I love it!

I love Bid Whist so I thought I'd try this one. The only gripe I have is my partner aka computer sometimes seems to be playing against me as opposed to playing as my partner. I do understand that it is a computer but plz see if u can do something about this problem. Don't wanna uninstall

This game has some flaws I can't take out a straight 4 with a no trump bid. My partner never plays his winning card when I am searching for the joker or the ace. Why would you ever play all your aces and open up every suit and have no run suit to keep your component from gaining the lead? I feel like I am playing against all three players instead of with my partner.
