excessive amount of *animated* ments. EDIT: just my opinion, but I think ads should not make it hard to focus on the content - somewhat like the fact that TV ads run mainly between content, not during. the portion of animated ads has continually risen to a point where it actually interferes with reading articles. I would have preferred if reading with Spiegel+ could be compared to the magazine with ads - but it's a lot worse. I will need to pick between uninstall and paying another 5€

I miss Spam! The world is serious enough, keep bringing us jokes. The new app: Way too many Sp+ articles. If I would like to subscribe to Sp+ I would have done so quite a while ago. Make the text of an article also clickable (per today I need to click on the headline or the picture). It is very unintuitive right now. Make the pictures scalable. Right now I cannot zoom into a picture, for example to read a text. Remove the confirmation click when closing the app. Very annoying.

Since the update with the completely new orange interface the experience was basically killed. It is too difficult to navigate compared to the old version. The compact view which was previously available is gone and now scrolling down takes minutes. Too much description below the pictures in the browse articles view. Relevant and irrelevant information, pictures and whitespace are in disproportion. Impossible to zoom in pictures though a button for full screen is available. Complete f*** up

So one could argue about the new app structure, I think it just needs some time to get used to it. But I'm paying already for Spiegel+ and then getting the most ridiculous ads in my face while reading? Full page ads in the middle of the reading experience? And you're asking for another anti-ad subscription on top of the 20€? Oh, and that would only get rid of "most" ads? Seriously? Not "all"? This is beyond ridiculous! If this doesn't change soon I'll have to stop the subscription.

So, either you pay for the app, or they will just bombard you with blinking, flashing, and slow-loading ads that make the reading experience very unpleasant. The freely available articles are less than well edited, and most of the articles are behind a paywall anyway. Not worth it.

Not possible to play audio editions since couple of weeks. Der Spiegel is not interested to do anything about it. The app is useless for me now. My phone Note 10+ is updated. I have deleted and again installed the app. No improvement. They seem to gladly take your money but don't want to invest in proper app development.

Good app, but the constantly moving page due to still loading adverts is really annoying while reading. I especially like the read offline function since I don't always have connection while travelling, but the fact that I have to load the page to then load it again for offline reading makes this function almost useless when the connection is bad. A button to immediately load it for offline or at least store the already loaded page would reaaaaly be helpful.

I tested the new app and I find it rather bad. You can check several topics that you want to get information about, but there is no option if you don't want video articles or short notices. Also Spiegel+ articles are often not shown as such. Think I'll stop using Spiegel as source. It got too annoying with the update...
