I will say I like how the videos teach grammar rules that most apps don't teach, and the flashcards are a nice touch and the mini games are fun. Unfortunately this app seems to have no team for if you have issues. I wish they would fix the bug preventing discord authentication. Or at very least if the team would respond to issue tickets. My ticket was ignored for several weeks and eventually closed without ever receiving a response from anyone.

I like most of the updates, there's more variety in questions; however, the new speaking questions (where you have to use the mic) don't work. I'm saying "ha," for instance. It says I'm wrong, both times, then proceeds to say "ha," itself. Maybe it's just my American accent, but it's like it doesn't hear me properly.

Simple UI design, yet cute and effective for learning. From everything else that I've studied, this has been the most fun app-wise. It's also accurate, which some apps aren't. I'm very pleased with this learning app/game. I'm 27 and have been looking for accessible and friendly tools from the time I was 13. I know loads of vocab, but have struggled with grammar, because of lack of interactive tools or other people.

My impression after one week of use is very positive! For something I was initially skeptical about, this really blew away my expectations in of both atmosphere and especially functionality! My only gripe is the ads, really. Not even how often they show up, just... the ads themselves are often very, very disturbing.

Okay, I've gained a better understanding of how this app works. The alphabet cards at the beginning had really overwhelmed me, so I didn't realize that they were alphabets (I thought they were conjugations). But now that I know that this app was capable of teaching the construction of Japanese sentences, I got excited to learn. I'm not a big fan of the tutorial, but I ire the implementation of visuals, pronunciations, and handwriting correction. I wonder if other Japanese apps are like this?

Hands down the best Japanese learning phone app out there by a large margin. As of this review it teaches beginner to intermediate Japanese, I hope they update more in the future! The only things I found needed improvement were: Sometimes it doesn't take text input correctly if you type too fast so typing 'no' could end up writing 'お'. Make sure you double check your sentence before you submit your answer! I would like a bit more variety in the sentences used when you learn new vocabulary

app can be frustrating because it will make you listen to syllables out of context and then give you multiple choice answers with similar syllables which would frankly be difficult even in your first language. Example Fu, Bu, Ku or Pu. It's not really a fair judgement of knowledge. Also the multiple choice poll up is annoying because it covers up the question so you can read it side by side. Not a bad app but could use some improvement. It's design is a bit sloppy.

Better than duo-lingo for early beginners! This app teaches you to type, sound out AND finger draw the hiragana, katakana, and Kanji not just recognize them. I like the flash card set up, and the fact that they explain the grammar. Very helpful. The archade games are good for review. A couple of the sounds of characters with tenten are a bit different than other versions I have learned. Overall though, this is my favorite app for early learning I have tried several!
