Southwire's voltage drop calculator will help you determine the proper wire size for an electrical circuit based on the voltage drop and current carrying capacity of an electrical circuit. Determines wire size to meet specific voltage drop limits or calculates voltage drop for a specific conductor run. When sizing conductors, calculations limits wire size to voltage drop and NEC ampacity. Southwire's Voltage Drop Calculator is designed for applications using AWG and KCMIL sizes only.
We are currently offering version 3.2.3. This is our latest, most optimized version. It is suitable for many different devices. Free directly apk from the Google Play Store or other versions we're hosting. Moreover, you can without registration and no required.

Very useful app! Very easy to explain and show an non-electrically inclined person why they have voltage issues under full load with long wire runs of insufficient gauge. Only suggestion would be, add split phase (dual phase) selections, as most of North America residential and small commercial power is 240v split phase, not just single phase 120v or three phase as is available in the app now.

Good tool, would be great if I could see the entered info instead of dots and dashes. Update - problem is fixed, thanks!

Excellent app for a construction electrician, or maintenance electrician who does rewiring jobs. Multiple options, first you have to learn how to calculate several wires of different sizes in one conduit, but after you do it is intuitive and just a great program

Works well for the awg listed, but it doesn't go small enough. Should go down to 18 awg at least. Also, it would be nice to have a separate table showing max amps on a specific awg wire, so I know I can't use 12 awg at all, if I need 40 amps; It just doesn't work.

Spot on, except I wish the app gave an option to select insulation classes of conductors. Instead, it defaults to 60c insulation which is strange being that 75c is a typical spec. Just know your ampacity ratings of conductors, and base your selection off of the voltage drop. Ie... size 3 in the app is rated for 85A(60c), but I'm running size 3 THHN(90c) which is good for 115A.

I don't know why the Southwire app calculates a different result than the Southwire website. Which one is right? Try, 60amp,copper, 3-phz, 60Hz,208v, conduit, 150ft run, min conductor and 3% allowable v-drop. Would be great otherwise.

Very useful tool, especially when vetting out possible installs with customer during conversations. very fast, accurate information. Love it! - John (GF) EC Electric

Some of the information takes up more than 1 line, instead of making the space bigger the app appears to cut of some information. Would like an option to expand the information
