MRCOOL SmartHVAC App works with MRCOOL Smart Controllers to convert MRCOOL Air Conditioners & Heat Pumps to smart ones. Our smart controllers work with this App to help you convert your existing or new ACs to smart ACs. You can control your MRCOOL ACs through your smartphone or simple voice commands (our smart controllers are Alexa & Google Home enabled).
These DIY controllers are extremely easy to setup. You can automatically turn the air conditioner or heat pump OFF when you leave the premises and start to cool/heat once you arrive as per your settings. This App gives you complete control of your heating and cooling. It figures out when you're at home and when you're out and adjusts the settings to provide comfort and energy savings.
You can set weekly schedules for your air conditioners, monitor usage history, set air conditioning action in relation to your locations, see the air filter status of your AC and lot more. You can set intelligent temperature based triggers for your air conditioners by using the ‘Comfy’ feature under ‘My Rules’ section of the app. Comfy lets you set triggers to personalize the operation of your AC. It helps you automatically change your AC settings if room temperature goes above or falls below a pre-set value. It helps you reduce your energy bills with lot of convenience.

**Update: Spoke with Service person and was sent a new part which fixed the problem. Thank you for your help. .....................................................Having issues with device not connected to network. It connects for a few days and then it's not connected. Every few days it does this. I don't change anything on my network. All other devices work fine. This just started acouple weeks ago. My remote is a back up to turn on or off now.

App regularly shows units offline and uncontrollable. Router shows connected fine. Often will not reconnect unless the router or MrCool is shut down at breaker. Still, all units do not always reconnect. And, if you have comfy program on and app disconnects, the remote will not override it, so if you try to turn unit off it will follow comfy and turn back on. Replaced router twice with different brands. tech did try to help. After 2.5 years, I give up. sorry, gotta go throw the breaker!

My experience with this is horrible. It's never been correct and it's usually off by more than 10°. Not good. Recently the app has been turning the AC or the heat and cranking the temps up or down all the way withoutmy knowledge. I just walked into my building and it's 110° and the heat is blasting! This app is dangerous. Do not trust it. Save yourself money and stay away from Mr. Cool altogether! My electricity bill was up last month and now I know why.

Instructions are very detailed but not oversimplified. The two packages came equipped with everything needed for the do-it-yourselfer. Initially I had a little difficulty programming the USB dongle with Android phone app but after a quick Google I was able to get the unit to go in to the programming mode. Due to its high efficiency I have been using my Mr Cool instead of my HVAC system during milder weather. overall I am very pleased with my system's operation.

So I installed my system 5 months ago, A/C works great, I have a 2 zone. Now that it's getting cold out I switched to the heat setting, the system uses the remote controls as thermostats, they are not correct, I have 2 other thermometers and they both read lower then what the system supposed to be at. The Auto option doesn't work correctly. With 2 zones, you get 2 remotes, something happens, and they conflict with each other and lock up. I'm not too happy with that and hope they update to fix.

It's a pretty good app, but it is definitely glitchy. Units will either stay on or not turn on when scheduled. I have all my head units scheduled to turn heat to 66 at 6:00 in the morning, but the schedule doesn't seem to be able to connect. I can turn them up with the app on my phone, but the scheduling portion of the app is not operating at all. Edit: figured out how

Confusing app. Terrible product. The app shows a completely bogus temperature different from the wall control with the accurate temp. Their tech said their smart device is measuring the internal blower unit temp which should be much hotter or cooler than the room. So an auto routine to keep range 68 to 72, the device will fight itself, heating then thinking it's very hot and switching to cool on an infinite loop. App says 81F, wall shows 73F. Doesn't get any more stupid than this design.

App still misses scheduled changes, and also reverts/forgets schedule variables. The mrcool unit could be ideal for a greenhouse, but the app frankly limits the capability of the system. Added a star for customer , waiting on firmware updates to enable app to retry missed parameter/state changes i.e. after wifi or power drops out, as it currently does not retry, and also to enable Max fan speed in Auto mode.
