Love the service, hate the app. Buy nothing as a concept is great. However, it's an atrocious app that frequently shuts down and even when it is "working" is often glitching (such as messages or notifications never clearing). App features have increased in the year or 2 I've been using it but I wish instead of making more features, they'd spend the dev. hours fixing the problems.

"Buy Nothing" is now pushing a paid subscription. You can't make this stuff up. Oh, and they still haven't made a minimally functional app. Log-in bug persists, notifications are super buggy (very old ones displayed as new despite several attempts to "mark all as seen", new ones don't show up at all). Try offering a quality service or product before asking for people's money, especially for an app that is meant to encourage, you know, not commodifying every single thing.

I love giving in my neighborhood! The app reaches farther than the Facebook groups, which I prefer. However. The app glitches constantly. I have to over and over. It does not save my pickup info even though I tick the box to save it every time. Sometimes it won't open, or things take forever to load. I love the BuyNothing community and the function of the app, but I really wish it were more reliable. My loyalty to the concept and lack of other options are what keep me using the app.

For an app called "BuyNothing" it sure keeps trying to get me to give them money. Many pieces of essential functionality are gated behind a subscription model. Want to bookmark a post? Pay us money. Want to easily switch between communities? Pay us money. It also performs like garbage. When you scroll past the first ten or so listings it slows to a jittery crawl. Search filters don't work. I was looking for a table with "local only" selected and it kept showing things 2,000 miles away.

Great project! I've been an advocate of Buy Nothing for a few years and although transitioning from FB groups to the app is still a pain, I'm glad that they are claiming their independence from Big Tech. Some pain points I've experienced with the app which hopefully gets resolved soon: 1. Having to sign in every few weeks/months. Software update might be triggering it? 2. The default view isn't local. Other than that, awesome job with all the improvements!

Although the giving and exchange of free things is a great concept...the software or program used by the app is nonsense. It has to be uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, reinstalled over and over. Just dumb. Garbage....that's it, we're done here. I just uninstalled and reinstalled. Useless. Doesn't show pages. Garbage. Uninstalling now.

It can sometimes be clunky, BUT I love the app. I love the impetus behind it. I'm grateful to the creators. The amount of things that have been kept out of the landfill is amazing. And the amount of things I have gotten or gifted is huge. Also it feels nice to help people and be part of a community that is a bit more gentle to the Earth.

couldn't even start an . Tried g up via Google, "sorry we are unable to log you in". Then told me my name wasn't my real name when I tried g up using my email and a totally blank white box popped up just with "ok" on the bottom right, obviously supposed to be a message but app is totally broken. Disappointing.
