METRO is the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, serving the Houston, Texas region with safe, clean, reliable, accessible and friendly public transportation services.

The official RideMETRO app allows you to plan and manage your trip on Local bus, Park & Ride bus, METRORail or METRORapid. It requires a cellular network or wireless connection.

By allowing the app to access your location, you’ll see:
• Nearby bus, rail and METRORapid routes
• Real-time arrival estimates for nearby buses and METRORapid vehicles
• Scheduled arrival times for nearby trains

You can plan your trip by tapping the arrow icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

The app’s unique My Stop Technology then connects with thousands of beacons in the METRO service area to deliver notifications or pulse vibrations when you’re approaching your:
• Starting bus stop, METRORail or METRORapid platform
• Transfer point (if applicable)
• Destination bus stop, METRORail or METRORapid platform

Just plan your trip and watch or listen to your phone to monitor progress.

Awkward app, confused and sent a guy the wrong way ( now stuck downtown tonight (?)). HUMONGOUS BLOAT, forced prioritizing your location & my location setting is Off! Background feed to Metro ( METRO using folks phones for their realtime benefit). New app even has more stuff at the front end pages & folks have dig further through larger menus to get to what they are looking for than the old app. Work through the layers; it DOES NOT PROVIDE PDF schedules ('Error' message and one cannot report).

Honestly, the old app was better in my opinion. This one gives you limited options when it comes to route and it also doesn't show stop # and very confusing set up. Please go back to the old app, maybe with better updates.. This one is NOT friendly whatsoever

Thank you for the app! This is much better & so useful. 1).Please consider adding label features on the map,route tab; label the route icons with the bus # or rail line color, so that the can see all labeled icons in the route rows. 2).Why doesn't the app show the schedule for bus 151? 3).I love seeing the selected route (similar to your website but) w/added bus location now!! Pls let us "pin" routes to our map/favs. 4).Enable close or "X" to restart w/in the app a new search or back reset

A friend introduced me to this app and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I no longer have to wait and wonder when the bus will arrive. I can leave the Med Center and time the next bus flawlessly.

Being able to save locations such as favorites would make this app better. And it's no longer working like it used to...Now it doesn't even have the correct "real-time" on busses. Metro is my only form of transportation. I WANT to like this app, but I can't. Google does a better job... 😑 Update: it was MERGED from 2 apps to one! And it's actually "real-time." I actually really like it now! Lol 😂

Dangerously misleading in a crisis. Though useful under normal circumstances the app doesn't do a good job of notifying when the metro shuts down (such as due to weather). It keeps calculating arrivals as if the buses were still running. This can string the along with false hope of evacuation until your phone dies, the hotels are full, and you're facing the prospect of a night on the streets.

This is a dope app because based on location, you are provided several bus route options based on whether you want to have a shorter walking distance, shorter travel time and/or least transfers used. The app auto-populates as you progress throughout your journey. Metro is a fool for that...Wow, I honestly expected a redundant app from ya'll, however I'm eating my words. Metro for the longest had thrived on inefficient, menial, and boring activity. In 2021, times sure have changed for Metro.🥴

App riddled with bugs. Constantly having to restart the app in order to get it to function. I question the real time tracking as countless times the bus comes 10 minutes earlier or 25 minutes later than the "real time" specifies. Despite these flaws, it is still helpful if you're new to Houston or unfamiliar with bus times in your area.
