The complete Gregorian chant, including many world-premiere recordings, synchronized with square-note scores, accompanied by the neumatic notations of St. Gall and Laon, Latin texts, and translations into English, is now available in your pocket! Neumz is the largest recording project ever undertaken, more than 9000 hours of music of transcendental beauty for the soul sung by the community of Benedictine nuns of Notre-Dame de Fidélité de Jouques and the Benedictine monks of Sainte-Madeleine du Barroux. Sacred chants soothe us, deepen our souls, unite us to God, lift our spirits, and bring us into a more intimate relationship with the Eternal Father. Let yourself be carried away by the flowing, vibrant, immensely expressive melodic movement of Gregorian chant: pray, meditate, and become aware of what is essential to our project; everyone in peace, united in sacred praise. Enjoy this universal chant to God, which can accompany you in your moments of prayer and meditation on the Word, thus elevating your spirit. Neumz accompanies you in this connection and intimacy with God.

“The recordings of clear unaccompanied voices are speckled with authentic sounds such as the creak of wooden benches, the occasional coughing or dropping of prayer books and bell chimes.” The Guardian

COMPLETE LATIN RITE
Neumz is the first complete recording and digital source of liturgical materials for the Roman Rite: the entire contents of the Psalter, Lectionary, Collectary, Antiphonary, Responsoriary, and Gradual are assembled into a "Liber Digitalis," now featuring both Novus and Vetus Ordo.
Neumz presents the liturgy with an easy-to-use solar calendar.
The chants of the Divine Office and the Ordinary and Propers of the Mass are presented in their natural context.

HOW IT WORKS
Create or to your existing .
Carry the entire Divine Office in your pocket!
Follow the square note score of each chant, synchronized to scroll with the music.
Follow the Latin texts with their English translation as they scroll line by line to the music.
Soothing and calming, this music is seemingly suspended in an eternal oscillation, at once both reaffirming and canceling the sensation of time, inducing a meditative state by simultaneously enhancing focus and relaxation.

GREGORIAN CHANT
Gregorian chant is the music of the Western Church, sung for over 1000 years without interruption. The Benedictine order adopted it as the music for its prayers and has cultivated it ever since.
The serene sounds of these ancient chants have proven to be a real source of calm for our s worldwide, regardless of beliefs. This medieval music is perfect for prayer, meditation, focus and relaxation.

THE ABBEYS
The Abbey of Notre-Dame de Fidélité is a monastery of Benedictine nuns located in Jouques, near Aix-en-Provence, . The growth of the community allowed them to found the monastery Notre-Dame de l’Écoute in Benin and L’Abbaye Notre-Dame de Miséricorde in Rosans. As of 2020, the community in Jouques includes forty-five sisters.
The Abbey of Sainte-Madeleine du Barroux is also in French Provence. A community of over fifty monks chant the Tridentine Rite and cultivate the land to make wine, olive oil, lavender, and bread. The Vetus Ordo recordings were funded through Repertorium.eu, a Horizon Europe research and innovation grant.

Old office format with the new calendar and propers, parallel translation and recording. Love it. Could be improved by the ability to refresh the chant when it doesn't load properly, and the ability to instantly go from one to the next. (Update: both of these are now in the app!)

No content. Appears to be abandonware. Presumably this should have chants - not sure if that is audio / video / notation or what as nothing is displayed, all items on the calendar are locked and remain so even once you create an . Every item prompts you to then buy a subscription. So as far as I can tell, every part of the app description is false: it is none of Gregorian chant in the palm of your hand and none of the content, presuming there is any, is free. Abandonware?

Lovely app - I discovered it after someone told me about the Advent Calendar reflections. The only reason for 4 stars (rather than 5) is the lag between the visual chant notation on the video and the sound, so unless you have a separate copy of the chant to hand, you can't follow along because the bottom bar (notes and text) is below the video line

Amazing app and amazing the underlying endeavour. Congratulations. As others said, there are some bugs with scrolling. Some scored appear blurred too (free version?). Please add option so phone screen does not turn off. Very annoying now, you have to constantly touch screen so it remains on. God bless!

I love the idea behind this app, but I have some . Occasionally, the auto scroll function on the chant will cause the music to scroll past the to of my phone screen before the audio reaches the end of the line. Then the music is cut off and I can't follow along with the voices. Also, on Android, I can't dismiss the push notification, even after I killed the application. These are minor inconveniences, but would be nice if they were fixed. Otherwise, this is a great app.

I really like the idea and all the work put into this. My one issue is the audio skips for me a little and it throws me off. It seems to happen when it switches from one recording to the next. It'll start the second track, stop for a split second, and start over. Otherwise I would recommend it to folks. Very relaxing until the skip happens

I spite of being the ONLY Chant app that is being regularly (<12 months ago) updated, there are some things about it that I don't care for. The first is the vocal performance. While the voices of the nuns are lovely, the fact that they are sopranos\altos while I'm more of a baritone makes it hard for me to "sing along" with them. The second, and this *is* a complaint, is that the acquistics of the hall they are singing in, produces a natural reverbration that makes them hard to understand.

wonderful project, thank you for offering this! I can second the issue noted in the reviews below that the neumes lag behind the audio -- perhaps the option to scroll freely thru the neumes during playback would be an easy fix? also, more clarity about what precisely is gained by g up would be helpful!
