The story is mostly separated into 2 variants. The main story packs and the side story packs. The main story mostly takes itself seriously. While the side stories are generally much more lighthearted. So there's something for everyone. The combat system is turn based, with units being placed on a grid. Which I found very enjoyable. And the game is also very free to play friendly. With lots of ways to farm currencies. And the developers just give away tons of free pulls on top of all that.

Honestly a great game with a very RPG like fantasy world and with animations when using skills. Just the only issue now is the RNG with no increase pity rate except having to exchange for a guaranteed pull. A huge downside too is the difficulty jump if you're a beginner and not knowing who to pull. The game is not lenient and will punish you if you don't know what you're doing. Maybe late game players/whales don't have an issue, but this game is way too hard when beginning. Pls change someday...

The artwork and fan service is top tier. The main story is good, but not great. The event stories are okay, but being completely disconnected from the main story makes them lack appeal. The combat is just bad; by the end everything comes down to either one-shotting your enemy or getting one-shot yourself. Free pulls are generously given during events, but feel sparse during normal gameplay, and drop rates are bad considering that multiple copies of units are required to be effective.

There are so many games that run completely on auto. This game does have an auto feature but it enhances the game and you have to be involved not just mindlessly press the same button. There is real strategy involved many different parts of the game. On top of it the stories are enjoyable too. Edit: I really love this game, the only downfall that I really have is whenever I try to play the last night my game crashes. This happens on different devices.

(Edit at bottom) Maybe I'm just getting old but the game doesn't feel the same anymore. There combat screen is so dark and hard to see and it's an isometric view so depth perception and tapping is difficult. The game isn't hard, seems it's been adjusted for normies. I'll cherish the memories of the original brown dust. Edit: upon playing longer and sticking with it I've found a new enjoyment here, the perspective view does take getting used to but I enjoy the game fully now.

Updating my review: phone still gets super hot playing it but this is easily one of the best mobile games I've ever played. There's so much free content that ISNT PVP based so it's just fun figuring out the different teams you can make to beat the content and doesn't force a meta with anything (though some characters will make it easier). Building characters is fairly easy, but grinding to get the best equip and tweaking team comp for peak performance is what takes time. 15/10 stars.

Now this is how you do a gatcha game! The game itself doesn't force you in a direction to spend money. You can easily get some strong units just for free with the generous amount of pulls and gems you get. The story is pretty solid as well, and the game play is like retro Final fantasy with the turn based system. It's been a while since i've enjoyed a game this much absolutely well deserving of 5 stars.

I love the art style it's fun, but feels like this game was made to be difficult just for the sake of being difficult, if players are having a hard time playing the game, what makes them think the players will stay let alone spend money? If they can't progress, they will eventually leave for something less whatever this is. People generally play mobile games to relax or kill time not struggle.
