DOES NOT WORK!!! Do not , I used this app for nearly a year and liked it, not really an issue. Then all of a sudden in July 2024 it stopped tracking times accurately and would not work correctly when trying to give more time to my son. Whatever the developers did recently messed it up completely

This is handy to limit kids' use of their Xboxes, but the app itself is problematic. Within the last few months, specifically (likely since the last update). The app just won't load sometimes, and for the last few days, it won't actually report the time they're spending on particular games or apps. This is frustrating and not especially helpful when kids have limits on certain apps but the app won't track the time spent.

So yes MS had Family app but it's lacking features that it should have. One should be able to authenticate through the app. I should just have a pop-up in my app that authenticates me. So when my child asks me to install something or change a setting it's easy for me to get something on my phone. I don't touch the Xbox. And that important because MS will ask you to authenticate constantly. It wasted 1hr setting up the Xbox. The UX with family restrictions turned on is shockingly awful.

Needs better options to extend screen time without needing to change the standard schedule. 2 hours is not good enough. What would be best is to allow us to give an except for as long as we want. Winter break is a good example. My kids are out of school for two weeks. Being able to set an except to screen time from datetime to datetime would be ideal.

You can set all of your child's preferences but can't go into your own profile to change things like screentime limits or communication restrictions. I also had trouble because it didn't list all of the profiles on my console. I wish it had a remote setting to power down the console but I don't know if that one is out of reach. I would highly appreciate the ability to do that though!

A surprisingly bad app that really shouldn't exist. The phrase "disted experience" comes to mind when using this app. A third of the time, it takes you to the Xbox website to complete changes, a third of the time your Microsoft (again, via the website)... and the 2nd star is for the last third where you can actually make changes in the app. Again though, this app shouldn't exist. There's 3 separate apps. Xbox, Xbox Family, and Xbox Game . Like I said, disted experience.

I love it for adding screen time and stuff. There needs to be more options for adding money to your child's , though. Also, there should be more options for the things you need help with that are actually relevant to the issues that occur, the people who answer the phone should probably not be leaving you on hold, coming back 20 minutes later sounding like they just got home from the bar and clearly nodding out on the phone with roosters in the background.. etc. not enough space.

Well, I like that it shows my family group. However, I set a schedule for time limits for both my kids who game, and time is currently running down, but it shows that they haven't played any time at all in the app. So for that, I'm definitely rating it 2 stars. This time limit thing needs to be fixed, please. It's confusing and not working. The kids are currently singed out of xbox playing outside, but time is still running down. Please fix this. I don't like it.
