The game is fantastic. My only complaint is that on my Google Pixel 3XL, when I leave the app for any reason, the Pixel bottom menu pops up and I can't access the game's bottom menu. If you could fix that, I'd appreciate it! I have Android 10, latest update *EDIT* - The issue was resolved with the new update. Thanks!

Absolutely top-notch visuals and a good ambient soundtrack create an incredibly immersive puzzle-solving experience. While the interface is a bit confusing to navigate and the deciphering may feel a little tedious at times, the overall production quality is perhaps the best I've seen in any game on the app store. For those hesitant to spend $3: A) The game is quite lengthy, so lots of content. B) Play the first few levels of the sequel. It's free, and gives you a good idea of what to expect.

Amazing cryptography game. Luke's puzzle and graphic design really makes it stand out, as the Play Store doesn't normally get this kind of high-quality mystery games (for example, Device 6 and Blackbox were only released on iOS). Also, I just love the conspiratorial 60s atmosphere, with classified documents from shady British organizations, secretive quantum research, and concealed COMINT satellites, which is spectacularly complemented by the eerie soundtrack. A great experience like no other.

There are many cheap 'Puzzle' apps that are mass-market, quick-buck, with little care for quality. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE APPS. This is the kind of stuff you seek out when you're training your brain for escape rooms, or day long puzzle competitions. The presentation, the context clues, it's all wonderfully atmospheric and well put together. Downsides? Well, the UI could use a little clearer description or guidance for the 'help' tools' use, but that's about it. EXCELLENT job.

I tried The Guides: Axiom before and I enjoyed that, which led me to install this game. I was expecting a similar navigation, unfortunately this installment was a mess compared to Axiom that I didn't bother working through the puzzles. Unlike Axiom, this version was a UX mess: there's no indicator that you've cleared a level, and when levels are connected, it's so hard to which level to go back to without selecting them one by one.

I ed this after playing Axiom. I've really enjoyed playing both games, solving puzzles that link to levels outside of the one you're playing adds a good depth to the game too! the UI for calculating and entering answers is poor in a lot levels because you need to be able to view the puzzle and the input interface at the same time; the view is often obscured my the input and I rarely use the interface to solve puzzles, resorting to online binary calculator or cipher shift resources.

Excellent game. I appreciate a puzzle game that actually puzzles me. This game is fantastic to play whenever your brain needs a little help breaking out of its little entrenched patterns or the endless circling thoughts that it can get into with a repetitive job or under stress. I first played The Guides awhile ago, so I enjoy the recent additional content coming back to it now. I do miss the extra complexity of additional forking solution paths, but it's easier to track progress now.

To this day, The Guides, Axiom, and Compendium are probably some of the best mobile games ever released. The graphics and detail in every aspect of this game is simply jaw dropping. Each stage of the game is filled with beautiful details that only serve as a red herring, putting so much into simply distracting you. Some of the later puzzles make you feel like Einstein when you solve them, and that kind of sensation is something that the puzzle game market is lacking at the moment. Outstanding.
