This app has become very slightly more stable since my previous review in 2018. It has also been filled with more ads, including some that are clearly designed to look like news stories. WIBW's reporting as an organization continues to be underwhelming, but the app does provide access to one of the two main sources for local news without a paywall. The catch is that only recent stories are available. You need to visit the website to access anything not at the top of their sorting algorithm.

I know ads pay for content, so I don't mind them. However, I would like an app that can turn off their ads during an emergency. When the sirens are going off in my community and I'm nowhere near a TV, a 30 second ad before seeing where the tornado is touching down is a very long time.

The photo submission page does doesn't work. Tap the "Browse files" tab and nothing happens. Thanks for helping me half an hour trying to send you an accident photo to replace the hokwy file photo the station used -- a neighorhood shot for a story that happened on the Interstate in wide-open country.

The noise that sounds when something is posted is loud & obnoxious. I feel it's totally unnecessary and disruptive. Also, general weather reports aren't breaking news. A tornado watch would be. There have been several bad accidents in the area of my daily commute I would liked to had a heads up about yet that is never the sort of thing that sets off the blood curdling alarm. Lately my entire household has been awakened each morn about 5 to tell us it's going to be sunny. NOT BREAKING NEWS WIBW!

I would give more stars but the wibw news app doesn't load up very well & never really has. On wifi or mobile networks, the only thing that pops up are the ads & this app just spins after closing the ads. I have the LG G8X ThinQ & i know its not the greatest phone but my friends who have different phones have problems also.

Most buggy app i have ever had. Rarely loads properly the first time. Instantly takes you to an ad. Then randomly crashes. I am uninstalling because it has been a month and is only getting worse.

Pretty disappointed in the fact they are moving weather notifications to the other app. One of which I have no storage space in my phone for. And no I dont have a ton of apps taking up my space I just have a phone that doesnt have much to start with.

The app has to be force closed every single time after opening an article from a notification or no subsequent notifications will actually open an article. Great news. Terrible app.
