Good game but leveling is bad. There are 10 difficulty levels when playing against computer. 2nd level is "easy"and I win every time. 3d level is "mid"and I win one out of ten games. I'm fairly new to chess and with ten levels it would be nice if the difficulty from level to level wasn't so dramatic. Conversely, the puzzles are "win in one move"sometimes two. I've played 50 and they are all similar and easy.

Really good chess app. There's ten difficulties, and It gets tough when you get to the 4th difficulty. If you wanted to improve it though, I would give more board and piece style options. Like for example instead only having a black a white board option you could have a wooden board option or different color combinations of marble. And a couple of different pieces styles too, but the app performance is excellent.

Not bad, but not quite good enough. The ads are pretty disruptive, and the "puzzle" mode was really boring and predictable, at least for the first 100 (I was really they'd get better, because I usually really like chess puzzles, but they didn't). Didn't try playing with anyone else, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't good for that. The frequency of ads would make playing a real game on this pretty irritating, though.

Here's the problem with this game and others that I have played. As soon as you reach what the game calls middle level. The difficulty increases a massive amount. The beginner and easy levels are like playing obtuse children. As soon as middle level is played, it "releases the kraken ". I mean be prepared to be destroyed... I'm not sure why they scale up this way. Yes a strong player can win, but you must survive well into mid game. Then it seems to dial back it's moves. So just be prepared.

Great for learning and great for ing time. Unfortunately, you might as well forget about trying to move up through the 10 difficulties because once you get to 3 it becomes broken. I've won 1 of 12 total games played on middle (3rd) difficulty after gradually progressing myself after at least 20 games and 50% win rate from each previous difficulty. The move from beginner (1) to easy (2) was a nice but noticeable bump in challenge, but the move to middle from easy is just impossible

The game is fun and really good for if you wanna play chess anywhere. Something that's been bugging me with the puzzle mode lately is that I can fail a level even if I get checkmate in the same amount of turns, just not the way the level wants me to. In one of the levels I was even able to find a checkmate a move sooner than the level had planned. Its not something that ruins the game but can be annoying to have to redo a level, and possibly have to watch an ad first, because I didn't do it 100%

Difficulty scaling issues. The early levels just hand you the queen, once you get to level 5/6 the AI makes no mistakes. At that point it must be looking many moves ahead. I suspect the difficulty scaling is to sell you hints. I had 24 hints at one point and that wasn't enough to get me through level 6 (which s my difficulty = monetization via hints theory). Also the stalemates seem time-based rather than rule-based - and yes, I've read the rules on stalemates.

This game is.. not fun. Don't try and use this to learn chess. The difficulty spike from easy to normal is too steep. The AI will literally counter every move you make until you're boxed into a corner. I played about 20 rounds on medium and the AI made exactly zero mistakes/ openings. Would only take a trade if they came off better in the trade. Etc etc. The AI also loves to force stalemate when you're going to win. I didn't use the rewind or hint buttons because that's not how chess works
