I don't know if the version I have is the latest because I was going to use it and a message appeared, a pop message saying about an update but I didn't click on it, and right now I don't know if that's the reason I cannot use it right now in my laptop.

Works for both camera and microphone. I have one small issue, however. If I disconnect DroidCam from the PC and/or close it on my phone without opening it first, it will close, but the DroidCam notification won't go away no matter what (exit doesn't do anything) until I reopen the app, which removes the notification automatically. Note that my phone has 4 GB RAM and phones with higher RAM probably run it in the background more actively, so the issue might not occur everywhere.

I don't particularly fault the creators for my problem, it's more the way I'm using the phone. The app works and connects excellent, and provides a great picture! But full-on camera and Wi-Fi tethering together generates too much heat for my phone. Again, no fault of the creators, more on the limitations of my device. Great work though!

For some reason, after years of working great, I've suddenly had horrible audio quality when using my Droidcam as a microphone. I switched to a different app with the same functionality, and immediately got much better results. Not sure what they broke, but they clearly broke something in the app.

Really great tool, I'm using an old Samsung A5 and it's 10x better than my webcam. I'm using the phone as a wireless webcam for work and for streaming on Twitch. It's plugged into the wall using the normal DC adapter to keep it charged. (Warning: there is a ever so slight delay in Wireless Webcam mode over having it wired directly in via USB but not much, however if you're picky - you can notice.) The only downside is that if you wire it into your PC via USB and have it running as a USB webcam, it likely won't charge fast enough to stay alive for a long period of time (at least with my old phone model plugged into my PC USB 3.0 port)... However once phones upgrade their firmware/hardware to charge faster from PC USB ports, this won't be an issue.

Mixed results. Perfect for new streamers! I use this for my streaming and it is AMAZING because I don't have a webcam and my phone's is great. Now I might just not have figured it out yet but I can't seem to use the tool bar on the desktop. Also sometimes the video freezes and lags, it's rare and I have to close and reopen the apps. Other than that 85% of the time this app rocks. Saves me money on a cam and I got a good camera off the bat with my phone🤙 Definitely recommend tho.

This is an excellent app,best out there. You just have to be patient, as some things are confusing.But I ed customer svc, and they explained things. #1 function is to turn a smartphone into a webcam. But it does so much more.You can have 2 or more phones going at once with split screen, like a TV network, dividing the screen in infinite combinations.You can record a video with 2 or more phones like that. You can toggle between phone cams with your keyboard. Get the pro version, worth it!
