This app couldn't find my hc-06 device, other app on playstore found it right away edit: dev responded that this app doesn't hc-06, I wish the app itself made it more clear (only see the message in play store description)

The only app I have been able to connect thus far to my bt module, but you are only connected in this app, so you can't use the mit app inventor together with this :(
