Strobe Tuner Pro is the only tuner that shows the real stroboscopic effect on your device. It is extremely accurate, suitable for guitar, violin, bass, ukulele, viola, cello, banjo or shamisen. The chromatic and strobe tuners are independent, but both use the same input from the built-in microphone of your phone or tablet for their advanced algorithms.
Chromatic tuner
The chromatic tuner accurately detects the frequency of the tone played on your instrument, and shows it on the chromatic scale. The target strings are highlighted on the scale, and you can see how far is the tone from being in tune. When you get close enough, you can use the strobe tuner for fine tuning.
Strobe tuner
When the pattern is rotating to the right, it means the tone is too high, and you need to tune down. When it is rotating to the left, just tune up. The slower the pattern moves, the better is your instrument tuned.

The algorithms of both tuners are independent - the chromatic tuner uses the Fast Fourier Transformation, but the algorithm in the strobe tuner is much closer to what you can find in oscilloscopes, and is computed directly on the GPU of your phone or tablet.
Tuning by ear
You can also play the reference tones using the buttons at the bottom of the screen. The tone is synthesized, and respects the setting of the concert pitch.
Instruments
The tuner has been tested with many guitars, violins, basses, ukuleles, violas, cellos and banjos, and we constantly grow our test coverage with new recordings of the instruments. You can switch between the guitar and the violin tuning in the settings.
Metronome
The tuner also features a built-in metronome, combined with a chromatic tuner. This makes practicing much easier - you can control the metronome and check the intonation at the same time.

Unfortunately, I can only rate this 5 stars. It works very well. Strobes are different, and some folks don't care for them. For that, there's an analog meter feature. I prefer strobes. If s want a sweetened tuning, finding cent values on the www for certain sweetenings on various instruments is certainly an option.

Simple but accurate tuner. Works as expected on various phones over the years. It could be a bit better at detecting and sustaining notes at frequencies like the low E, D, or B on Bass. But for guitar and I imagine any instrument with similar octave range, it works perfectly. Doesn't have all the bloat other apps come with just a tuner. Would give 5 stars if it had a better skin for it or even if it let you customize the ui. Still, this is my preferred tuner. It's worth its one-time fee.

This is the best, most accurate and easy to use tuning app! I used to have the analog version a couple decades ago. It's really important to be in tune! This app is a perfect (and much less expensive) replacement. Note that, for the greatest accuracy, I did have to switch over to manual mode. Very nicely done! If you're a musician, you need this!

Thank you A4Tune labs. I must ask, since you recommended this product (Strobe tuner pro) to me that you look into the functioning of the manual strobe tuner on it, because it does not function the same as your other excellent app 'guitar and violin tuner'. There isn't a way to pick a particular note / frequency and then tune to that, which is how it works in the other app. I'd appreciate if you'd fix the manual tuner as it's a real sore point in an otherwise great app.

I left my review well over a year ago - and my opinion is still the same - this is by far the absolute best Strobe Tuner app available on the Google store. It is extremely accurate and quick. I am a professional 6 string fretless bassist - Strobe Tuner Pro is amazing! It responds very quickly, I use it to perfect my intonation across the entire range of my instrument. Thank you so very much for making a functional strobe tuner that doesn't cost hundreds of dollars.

I've been using this app for over a year, and I love it. Everyone I know loves it. I always recommend it. You should get it and never look back at other tuning apps. This one is flawless. I am a guitar player, but many other instruments can be tuned to perfection with this app. I even trust it to do quick intonation approximations. Obviously, you'd want a decent rig, wired, but this app is responsive and accurate enough for quick work.

I compared it with Peterson Stroboclip and Peterson Strobosoft and I found it to be a few cents off! The cents indication doesn't match the strobe wheel, it shows to be sharp when the wheel stops turning! It is still possible to do set-up's with it but sometimes it jumps around to the point of being irritating! I've been doing luthier work for the past 35 years and have found this one to be pretty good!

Really great app. It allows for different visualization options, and it is accurate and intuitive. It's a perfect tuner for my purposes. I not only tune instruments , but also do setups including intonation where fine adjustments require the precision of a strobe, which this does perfectly. With all the junk apps out there it is great to have one I can rely on. Thanks!
