I tested all the sound measurement apps. It's the best app, even with advertising. But! Guys, make sure that the notification of exceeding the volume threshold comes to the wristwatch. To do this, you don't need to specifically develop a watch app. Set up the notification correctly. If you do, I'll buy a paid version.

Great app with one irksome fault - it won't comply with screen rotation (on Note 9). When I test against a proper SL meter I get pretty good alignment if hold phone in reverse so microphone at front, but reading is upside down as app won't rotate. Calibrate doesn't fix it as length of phone means a calibration at one level is wrong at a different level say 20dBA away. OK, so I read it upside down and calibration stays pretty good to a proper instrument, and that is pretty useful. Thank you for that.

I measured the noise of a fan and the results seem realistic although distances are not stated in fan manual. This was without calibration, which seems easy to do if a reference was available. Repeatability is within 1dB, which is pretty impressive. It shows and records the current value. Lost one star as it shows average and extremes NOT for the current recording but for ALL recordings! Almost funny that bug/function. Otherwise a clear winner app. Ads are less intrusive than expected.

I tested the app briefly and was thinking to keep it, even though it has the full screen ads that easily take u to the playstore. My mind changed when i tried to exit and a malware style ad appears, and displays a message saying "you're out of memory blah blah blah...". After that one I'm seeing "You have a virus. Click here... Blah blah blah". What kind of person/business would show ads like that to s who're using their app? It gives your app the characteristics of malware. Uninstalling.

It works great. It picks up the decibels very easily, unfortunately it also picks up my phone's direction like a gyrosensor. If I turn my phone fast or slow it shows up even when I'm not making a sound in my turning. I shook my phone to test it out and the graph matched the motion instead of just detecting sound. Still, I'll keep it for now. It's a great app. Thanks.

I needed an app to measure vehicle road noise. I tried several and this one seems the best. Nice interface and useful features such as saving results, along with the sound file. I would totally pay for a pro version to remove the ads. There does not seem to be any way of getting rid of ads in this though. But they only seem to pop up full screen when you exit the program. It would get 5 stars if it wasnt for this. No idea how accurate it really is. All phones have different mics and different compressors and limiters in the recording chain so will give different readings. Plus there is a reason why proper db meters cost $100 plus.

A meter, a graph, audio recordings, optional day/night screen settings and it calibrates. Looks great! I've had fun using it to measure the noise pollution in many different places. I would like to see an update that includes the ability to use the app without it recording (audio nor time stamp history). Overall I think this is an awesome app!

There is no point offering a sound / dB meter that does not have the ability to calibrate it. This sensitive App does and calibration is very easy. Simply place 3M from a device with a known (and trusted) output and adjust the reading to match. I would prefer a full-screen option allowing finer readouts from the 'needle' display but there is a precise digital display as well. Ads not too intrusive but, as the best meter app by a large margin, it's worth paying to remove them if used a lot.
