Seems OK, but an annoying bug where gestures intermittently stop working. This seems to happen after Liking a post, but not every time. Have to restart the app to resume using gestures. Worth putting up with to avoid the privacy concerns of native Meta apps. Also not possible to add more than one photo to a post. I appreciate the dev making it available, despite the above comments.

I'm trying this out again. I don't like when you click on a person to message them, because the window pops up in the corner and is super glitchy (slow/lag). I have poor eyesight and need a whole screen to see the messages. Please fix the lag and the messaging (the only real reason i installed slim social) and I'll rate higher. Also, please add message previews.

Good alternative to FB Lite. Could be improved if it allowed the to block the 'People you may know ' feature. But otherwise, it's a great app. Update November 2022: It's not clear if it's being actively ed, and it seems to be getting a bit buggy. I won't change my rating, which was true at the time. It'll be a shame if it dies as there are few similar alternatives on playstore.

GUI is very cumbersome. The content is wider than the screen when opening the Feeds menu. So I have to either slide it from size to side, or completely zoom out. But then the text is too small to be readable. It would be good to add an option for the to create custom filters for feeds - e.g. filter that would show only specified pages or groups. Also "sponsored" posts are still there even after enabling "Hide adds" setting. Even if they are from source not in the feed.

OK, but glitchy. E.g., cannot reliably go back to same place in newsfeed after clicking on a post; cannot search for people, groups, or pages (always says there's no internet connection). Edited to add: Just noticed I can't access my profile security and privacy settings. I get the page saying I have no internet connection. If it's not fixed very soon I'll uninstall.

Update, spring 2023: the latest version, though, is a dumpster fire. Messaging won't work; dark mode is white text on a white background; I can't post from the app anymore because it loses focus somehow and instantly erases what I had typed. The display is now too large for my screen, and won't scroll. Ads are not suppressed. Waiting for another update, I guess. The history is solid. . Previous review: I first gave this app 5 stars, years ago. Subsequent versions are still just as good.

Dark mode is iffy, but glad it exists. Being able to increase font is a great thing. However, trying to a group, and the submit button just doesn't work. Haven't tried messages, because it's not important to me. I wanted a client that would enable me to keep separate for ing groups, but seems this is not the one.

Latest update: FB has changed stuff and so SlimSocial also had to change. The display is not quite complete yet but it's still better than FB itself. Slim full display has details missing, and Slim Minimal has more complete details of items and choices, though more difficult to work with. FB on a cell phone is just awkward. Previous install: This does FaceBook, and does it so much better! Lets me choose how I browse and shows just the right amount of details.
